Judicial Candidate 2020: Caesar Almase

Learn about the candidate

About the candidate:

The reason I am seeking judicial office is the same reason I became a lawyer: to help make a difference in people’s lives and to be a positive influence in our community. I was born in the Philippines, and emigrated with my family to the US in 1973. My parents instilled traits typical of Filipinos: humility, compassion and a strong work ethic. I’m very proud of my Filipino roots, and I stay connected to my country of origin and the local Filipino community.

I obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree and Juris Doctorate from West Virginia University, and started my legal career in Las Vegas as the law clerk to District Court Judge Valorie Vega. Following that clerkship, I briefly practiced as a civil litigator at an insurance defense firm, and then went on to work in the Clark County Public Defender’s Office.

After almost five years as a Deputy Public Defender, I went on to private practice. Currently, I am a solo practitioner focusing almost exclusively on criminal law matters. During my 18-year career, I’ve handled thousands of felony and misdemeanor cases, and have represented individuals from all walks of life. I strive to get the best possible result in every case and work tirelessly for my clients.

When not working or spending time with family, I donate my time to different community groups in Clark County. I am Legal Counsel to Fil-Am POWER, a political organization dedicated to helping Nevada Filipinos get involved in the political process. I am Legal Counsel and honorary member of the US Filipino Veterans Group. I am a member of the Spring Valley Lions Club. Additionally, I was the President of Hope For Prisoners, an organization that assists people re-enter society after incarceration.
