The Nevada Department of Indigent Defense Services encourages indigent defense services providers (as defined by NRS 180.004) to be placed on the list of qualified contract and appointed counsel for the rural counties. The rural counties are currently in the process of building their Plans for the Provision of Indigent Defense Services and are seeking additional attorneys for their lists.
Please see below for the information on how to apply for the Rural County lists, the Clark County list, and the Washoe County list. The application does not take long to fill out.

Rural County Application
The application for placement on the list of qualified contract and appointed counsel for Rural County is attached below. In accordance with NRS 180.430, the department must maintain a list of qualified indigent defense providers. This list will in turn be used by counties for selecting contract and panels of appointed indigent defense providers. Attorneys employed, or seeking employment, by county or state public defender offices need not apply. The link provides an online application. (All rural counties excluding Washoe County and Clark County.)

Washoe County Application
The application for placement on the list of qualified appointed counsel for Washoe County is attached below. Please send a complete application and a copy of your resume to the Washoe County Appointed Counsel Administrator (ACA), Krista Meier, Esq. The ACA is overseen by the Washoe County Indigent Defense Committee, which decides who qualifies and who will serve on the attorney panel. Qualifications for certain areas of law are listed within the Application and were determined in accordance with Nevada Supreme Court Administrative Order ADKT 411.
