This academic year marks the 25th anniversary of the William S. Boyd School of Law’s opening. From our humble beginnings at Paradise Elementary School and with the help of generous donors and community support, the Boyd School of Law has become one of the nation’s top public law schools.
The J.D. degree is a pathway to leadership. We are proud to have over 2,800 alumni in corporate, non-profit, and government positions. In partnership with organizations like The Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada and Nevada Legal Services, Boyd students teach free legal education classes under the supervision of an attorney. Since the start of the program, Boyd Students have helped over 75,000 Nevadans gain access to legal resources.
As part of their legal education, students also have the opportunity to extern in judicial chambers, government offices, and public interest organizations, while earning academic credit. These experiential programs have yielded 38,000 field hours with an economic impact of more than $1 million.
