Additional Vacancies Added to Current Application for the District Court Vacancies in Clark County
The Nevada Commission on Judicial Selection has opened additional applications to fill vacancies in the Eighth Judicial District Court. The original application period was opened Monday, November 14, 2022, with the election of The Honorable Linda Bell to Supreme Court Seat A. The additional vacancies are for Departments C and N within the family division. On November 21, 2022, the Governor received notice of resignation from The Honorable Rebecca Burton, effective January 7, 2023. Judge Burton has presided over Department C since 2015. Department N became vacant with the passing of The Honorable Mathew Harter on November 9, 2022. Judge Harter presided over Department N from 2008 – 2022.

Applications for Department VII are due by noon on December 12. Departments C and N are due by noon on December 16. Interviews will be held in mid-to-late January, the dates are not yet set.
