ABOUT THE TOURNAMENT:
The Rebel Trojan is the first AMTA format trial advocacy competition to come to Nevada. Appropriately, it is hosted by UNLV. Students from colleges and universities around the nation compete against each other at the Rebel Trojan by presenting either the Prosecution or Defense side of a mock case. Each side will present an Opening Statement, Direct & Cross Examination of 3 Plaintiff witnesses and 3 Defense witnesses, and Closing Arguments. THIS YEAR, the students will present either the Prosecution or Defense.
During the filming of episode 9 of reality TV show The Saboteur, Rob Armstrong dies on the set. During the filming, the contestants were participating in an obstacle course involving a dive. It was during this dive that Mr. Armstrong drowned. After local investigations, contestant Charlie Martin is arrested and charged with the murder of Rob Armstrong.
For our participating students to compete effectively at national tournaments, and in the future provide excellent representation to clients, the benefit of the volunteers’ guidance is essential.
