Learn about Alicia Albritton, candidate for Henderson Municipal Court, Dept. 1.

  • Website: www.JudgeAlbritton.com

I currently serve as Judge in Henderson Municipal Court, Department 1, a position I have held for nearly four (4) years. In Henderson, my hometown of thirty-two (32) years, I preside over misdemeanor criminal cases, traffic matters, and Veterans Treatment Court, an alternative treatment court aiding those who have served our country. The program connects participants with service-related challenges to appropriate treatment, counseling, and resources while maintaining accountability and promoting rehabilitation.

My twenty (20) year career has been dedicated to public service and community safety. Prior to taking the bench, I served for sixteen (16) years as a prosecutor with the Clark County District Attorney’s Office. I was assigned to the Gun Crimes Unit, served as Assistant Team Chief on a general litigation team, and prosecuted juvenile sex offenders. I have handled thousands of cases ranging from misdemeanors to Category A felonies and have tried many jury trials. As a Deputy District Attorney, I received search warrant calls throughout the day and night, much like a judge.

Throughout my career in public service, I have treated people with respect while managing high-volume dockets, heavy caseloads, and emotionally charged cases. Serving on the bench has further strengthened my patience and listening skills. I listen not only to spoken words but also pay attention to the unspoken through tone, body language, and demeanor. I make decisions grounded in the law while never losing sight of the human impact those decisions carry. I strive to run a courtroom that treats people with dignity, respects people’s time, and delivers consistent, lawful decisions. Being a judge requires patience, life experience, and the courage to make difficult decisions fairly and consistently; all of which I have demonstrated. My decisions maintain accountability, safety, and stability in our community.
