I’m Caring, Committed, and Competent, and I’m running for Las Vegas Municipal Court Judge to create a community-centered court that is innovative, transparent, and efficient.

Half of my career has been devoted to litigation, advocating for individual clients as a public defender in WI and now at Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada representing kids and giving them a voice in court. The other half of my career has been devoted to effective legal system changes as an administrator at the Eighth Judicial District Court, the State of Nevada, Pretrial Justice Institute, and Las Vegas Municipal Court. It was while working at Las Vegas Municipal Court that I saw the negative effects an apathetic judiciary can have on employee morale, case outcomes, and public safety. So, I decided to run for Judge. Our community deserves better, and Better is on the Horizon!

As Judge, I will prioritize public safety and listen and respond to our community’s needs; create a court advisory council made up of community members and leaders, experts from private industries, and those with lived experience to introduce innovation and continuously move the court forward; make court data and information easily understandable and accessible, ensure courtroom doors are unlocked, and encourage the community to observe courtroom proceedings; and implement research-based policies and best practices to promote courtroom efficiency and improve case outcomes.

I’ve been an attorney for nearly 22 years, and I’m licensed in NV and WI. My Juris Doctor is from Marquette University Law School and I’m a trained mediator. I completed basic and advanced mediation training at the Saltman Center for Conflict Resolution and I’ve successfully mediated hundreds of high conflict child custody disputes. I have dual bachelor degrees in psychology and sociology and also a master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan (Go Blue!).
