CCBA Pub Crawl

It’s April, and spring is in the air! This is one of my favorite times of year for the CCBA because we are having our 8th Annual Pub Crawl! In our last issue of the Communiqué, due to a scrivener’s error, we failed to include the date for the event. To be clear, we will be holding it on April 16th, 2026. This is a free event open to all of our members. Please RSVP by April 14, 2026.

First, a little background. Way back in the before times (prior to the pandemic in 2020), I proposed to the CCBA board that we put on a pub crawl in the Arts District as a benefit to our members. I’ve always enjoyed pub crawls and thought it would be a great way to get our members together. The initial pub crawl was a smashing success, exposing our members to the amazing bars that the Arts District hosts and allowing us to get together in an informal setting outside of court.

When everything shut down in March of 2020, there were a lot of unknowns. Sadly, we were forced to cancel the pub crawl that year. Nonetheless, when everything started to reopen the following year, this event was the first in-person event that the CCBA put on. After the horrors of the pandemic and the isolation that grew out of it, the opportunity to gather with our colleagues was a welcome respite. Indeed, it is this event that has helped the CCBA cement itself as the “fun bar” every year since.

For those of you who have not attended in previous years, allow me to provide a few details. Each year we choose five bars in the Arts District to patronize. Usually, we choose new bars each year through a detailed vetting process months ahead of the actual event. This provides quality control over locations for our members. During the crawl, we provide one drink ticket and spend about half hour per stop.

This year, I would like to encourage all of you who plan to attend to either use a ride share app or (if you must drive) use a service like “Designated Drivers” (at 702-456-7433). It’s a service that will drive your vehicle and you home for a nominal fee. As lawyers, we know that there is no excuse to drive impaired. I can’t wait to see all of you there!
