Join the CCBA Community Service Committee! From charity walks, to in-person volunteering, to collecting donations funds and items, the Community Service Committee (Committee) focuses on organizing outreach services to the community at large in southern Nevada on behalf of the CCBA members.

All members of the CCBA are invited to join or volunteer and/or get involved in the planned activities. We welcome ideas for the production of future community service activities in which CCBA members may be best utilized to participate.

Networking opportunities available

We plan a number of activities during each year, including in-person service, charity walks, and donation drives. Some of our more notable activities include organizing volunteer attorneys to provide legal information to our United States Air Force servicemembers, organizing mixers for William S. Boyd School of Law students to network with local law firms, and volunteering at and collecting donations for Project 150 for homeless, displaced, and disadvantaged high school students.

Perhaps the Committee’s proudest yearly endeavor is Mark’s Blanket the Homeless Program. Originally started by the late Mark Blackman, who was an active and honored member of the CCBA for many years, the Committee collects donations to purchase high-quality, lightweight blankets for unhoused members of our community. Last year, we were able to distribute a total of 810 blankets to five different charity organizations, and we are proud to carry on Mark’s legacy and passion for this project each year.
You are free to customize your level of participation as there is not a minimum activity requirement. To learn about our activities, please see https://clarkcountybar.org/community-service-activities/.

The Community Service Committee meets on the first Friday of the month. While we won’t be meeting on July 4, 2025, please join us at our meeting (via Zoom) on August 6, 2025.
