On May 17, 2023, the Las Vegas Justice Court filed an order in the administrative matter regarding case assignments for criminal offenses committed within the resort corridor. See Administrative Order 23-04 (LVJC AO 23-04).

The order cites JCRLV 6.5(b)(14), identification of a history of criminal offenses occurring and involving offenders with multiple active and open cases within the Resort Corridor, Rule 2 of the Nevada Rules of Criminal Practice for District Courts, and NRCr.P. 2(1).

In LVJC AO 23-04, the Las Vegas Justice Court states that it “finds it advantageous to case management to have a single department, entitled hereinafter as the Resort Corridor Court, that is assigned a docket of all criminal cases where the alleged office was committed within the Resort Corridor.”

As a result, the Las Vegas Justice Court ordered “that cases in which a defendant is charged with a criminal offense that occurred with the Resort Corridor shall automatically be assigned to the department assigned the Resort Corridor Court, unless an exception is identified below in this order.”
