Since the creation of civil infractions in Nevada’s 81st Legislative Session (2021), there have been several updates to rules and laws regulating how courts are to process and adjudicate these matters. The Supreme Court of Nevada instituted Nevada Rules for Civil Traffic Infractions in 2024 and most recently Senate Bill 359 (2025) created changes on how courts can process moving violations and amend them to non-moving violations. Accordingly, the Las Vegas Municipal Court made changes to their traffic rules to reflect these change and which became effective on 9/29/2025. Included in the changes are definitions on what constitutes a driving record with a pattern of moving violations that prevents a reduction to a non-moving violation.
