To my former colleagues in the legal community, I am seeking your continued support for my re-election to the Eighth Judicial District Court, Department 21. My service is defined by a commitment to the rule of law, administrative efficiency, and a multi-dimensional perspective that ensures every litigant is heard with fairness and impartiality.
For the past four years, I have had the privilege of serving as the Presiding Judge of the Civil Division. In this leadership role, I manage complex administrative duties, including judicial education, the Case Reassignment Calendar, supervising the Discovery/ADR commissioners and probate commissioners, among other things. My work is not just about clearing dockets; it is about innovation. I was a catalyst for forming the Medical Malpractice (Med Mal) Court and continue to serve on the statewide Commission to Study Best Practices for Virtual Advocacy to improve court accessibility for all.
Practitioners can rely on the stability of my courtroom. I maintain an exceptionally low error rate regarding appealed decisions in both civil and criminal matters, reflecting a deep and accurate application of the law. My background—spanning eight years in law enforcement and over a decade as a civil trial attorney and mediator—allows me to understand the legal system from every angle, from the “human level” of community-oriented policing to the complexities of civil litigation and appellate work.
I believe in “Service Over Self”. Whether through my early work in disability services for veterans or my current dedication to access to justice and mental health initiatives, my focus remains on accountability and community safety.
