Judging Attorney’s Fees CLE Free for CCBA Members on August 1, 2024

Bar members are invited to join us for a light breakfast and a dynamic discussion at a CLE program to be hosted in-person, at the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada, on the morning of August 1, 2024.

“Judging Attorney’s Fees: A Judge’s Panel on Winning Attorney Fees”

Course description: Attendees will learn directly from seasoned judges on how to win their attorney fees. This program will be interactive as the panel of judges provide attendees with fact patterns of prior cases in which they granted or denied attorney fees. Attendees then will be the judge and make their ruling. Followed by the judges sharing the answer and rationale behind their decision.

  • Panelists:
    • Judge Deborah L. Westbrook – Judge Westbrook was elected in November 2022 to serve a six-year term on the Nevada Court of Appeals. Prior to taking the bench, Judge Westbrook practiced law in Nevada for nearly two decades and was twice named one of Vegas Inc.’s Top Lawyers for appellate work.
    • Judge Stacy M. Rocheleau – Judge Rocheleau presides over Department W in the Eighth Judicial District Court, Family Division. Hearing cases on domestic relations and minor guardianship. Prior to taking the bench, Judge Rocheleau was the founding partner of Right Lawyers.
    • Hon. Nancy L. Allf (Ret.) – Nancy served as a district court judge for the Nevada Eighth Judicial District Court for 13 years from 2011 to 2024. Judge Allf served as a Business Court judge for most of her time as a jurist.
    • John P. Aldrich – John founded Aldrich Law Firm, Ltd. in 2004 and is the firm’s managing partner. His practice focuses on complex business and commercial litigation, plaintiff personal injury, and general civil litigation.
