On August 24, 2021, the Leadership Academy of Nevada reached out to the CCBA with information about their school and governing board. See below for more information about this unique opportunity.
The Governing Board of Leadership Academy of Nevada is currently looking for interested parties who would like to bring their expertise and passion to their school community by serving as a member of the board.
Leadership Academy of Nevada (LANV) is an innovative online charter school that focuses on classical education for 6th through 12th grade students in Nevada. Focusing on life skills and academic excellence, their curriculum prepares students to be the principled leaders of tomorrow. Leadership Academy of Nevada believes that leadership is the ability to seize an opportunity and then create it for others.
The main purpose of the LANV Governing Board is to preside over the school by overseeing its policies and goals, and ultimately ensuring its success. The Governing Board is accountable to the Nevada State Public Charter School Authority, their students and families, taxpayers, and the administration and staff who run the school. We must oversee the administration of the school, address issues of concern, and develop policies to address these concerns, all while holding true to the mission and vision of their school. Governing Board meetings are held online each month with in-person Board retreats held twice a year. Board members are also always welcome at school events!
Being a member of the LANV Governing Board provides each member the unique opportunity to:
- Contribute to the continuing success of a well-established school
- Make a positive impact on public education
- Serve the community
- Expand one’s network and meet people with similar interests
Interested members of the bar may apply for a position on the LANV Governing Board. Questions regarding this opportunity may be directed to Jori Martin, Chair, Governing Board, Leadership Academy of Nevada, (702) 350-1472, jori.martin@lanv.org.
