2024 Judicial Candidate: Hilary Heap

Learn about candidate Hilary Heap for Las Vegas Justice Court Department 4

I have proudly called Las Vegas home for nearly two decades. As a mother of three and the wife of a retired law enforcement officer, I am deeply invested in the safety and well-being of our community. From working on the front lines of the hospitality industry, to earning my degrees in Criminal Justice and Law at UNLV, I’ve always been committed to serving our city.

During my legal career and as a Deputy District Attorney, I’ve prosecuted cases ranging from traffic violations to first-degree murder and led initiatives to protect children and tackle high-level drug trafficking. In 2021, I was named “Prosecutor of the Year” by the Nevada Narcotic Officers Association. I am currently the Team Chief of the litigation track that works closely with our hospitality industry to help protect our tourists and community members on the Strip. My experience spans over thousands of cases, ensuring justice is served, while focusing on community safety and rehabilitation. Additionally, I am committed to education and mentorship within the community and at UNLV where I teach and encourage students to become active members of the community and positive members of our criminal justice system.

Today, as a candidate for the Las Vegas Justice Court Department 4 bench, I bring a record of integrity, fairness, and dedication to the role. I am committed to making our justice system more effective, compassionate, and accessible for all.
